The mind/body connection meets at the neck in the fifth chakra. The body functions principally through unconscious patterns while the mind wants to understand. As a result, the merging of the body with the mind finds it's voice in the throat chakra; because sound is rhythmic vibration, the body's energy patterns, along with our voice are our living expressions.

Life is rhythmic , it is a state of synchronized vibrational patterns. Being in tune with the ebb and flow of life's rhythm helps us to maintain an inner balance.  Congruence of the body/mind reflects a state of vitality.  However incongruence of the body/mind we have feelings of isolation and we are unable to expand, respond or receive.

Creativity is an expression of the spirit within us and the power of choice sends our creative forces into the world. Understanding how our choices have energetic impact and karmic consequences is our personal responsibility.

Words have power; they carry energetic charge which is sent into the world and to others around us, therefore we must ask ourselves, do we speak with loving words or do we speak using words as weapons.

Individuation is discovery and expression of self.  As this maturation process evolves we bring clear intent and value to our self-expression and it is here that we develop our voice and our personal integrity, separating from tribal law (first chakra);  self-acceptance (fourth chakra) enables us to see what is true for us.

Secrets and lies are disharmonies with life and with our bodies. Withholding truth and speaking lies suspends the flow of energy to the sixth chakra of perception. Illusion becomes our "truth" and restricts our ability to self-express harmoniously.

When the fifth chakra is blocked we have difficulty expressing what we feel, our voice tone is weak, we can be prone to sore throats or coughs and/or struggle to make personal choices. If excessive, the voice is loud or the person may habitually interrupt or dominate conversation as well as be inclined to gossiping.

Although no single chakra is more or less important than another, if we cannot find and express our voices with conscious awareness we cannot bring forth transformation in our lives and in turn for the world around us.

Namaste

“The Prophet”
Kahlil Gibran
And then a scholar said, Speak of Talking.
And he answered, saying:
You talk when you cease to be a peace with your thoughts;
And when you can no longer dwell in the solitude
of your heart you live in your lips,
and sound is a diversion and a pastime.
And in much of your talking, thinking is half murdered.
For thought is a bird of space, that in a cage of words may
indeed unfold its wings but cannot fly.
There are those among you who seek the talkative through
fear of being alone.
The silence of aloneness reveals to their eyes their naked
selves and they would escape.
And there are those who talk, and without knowledge or
forethought reveal a truth which they themselves do not
understand.
And there are those who talk, and without knowledge
of forethought reveal a truth which they themselves
do not understand.
And there are those who have the truth within them,
but they tell it not in words.
In the bosom of such as these the spirit dwells
rhythmic silence.
When you meet your friend on the roadside or in the market place,
let the spirit in you move your lips and direct your tongue.
Let the voice within your voice speak to the ear of his ear;
For his soul will keep the truth of your heart as the taste
of the wine is remembered.
When the colour is forgotten and the vessel is no more.

When we modify or adapt to serve a new or different purpose, we transform. When we go beyond, rise above, overshadow or eclipse, we transcend what we were and become something new. When we take transformation of our physical or lower perceptions to their highest expressions, the spiritual or higher state of being determines how this energy is directed. The conversion of these energies causes an alchemical reaction that creates a new way of perceiving and experiencing our reality. The "leaden" lower self (body) connects to and serves the higher "golden" self (soul) -  this is the meaning of alchemy.

Uncertainty

When I choose to consciously sit in the uncertainty of the unknown I am brought into present time and into my physical body. Time slows, breathing is deepened, actions become deliberate and words are chosen with more intention. Vulnerability is on edge here in this place of uncertainty. Sensitivity is acute and tears are on stand by, ready to rise to any occasion. Yet, the beauty of this place is the humility and the grace that are the vessels of transportation ready to carry me to the next moment of life, if I let them. To move forward, I let go and let the unknown be my driver. I think about all the ways I try and control and predict my life. Making myself angry that it sometimes isn't going the way I like or a way that has me feeling so uncomfortable. Carrying this inner rebellion is like driving a car with the emergency brake on. The limitation of the ego mind holds us hostage to what the unknown would like to offer. An offering our thoughts have ...

The Seventh Chakra

Location:   Top of head. Influence: Cerebral cortex, upper skull, skin. Associative Color:      Violet or White or Gold   Central focus:  Connection to spirit, enlightenment, self-realization, fulfillment, faith, individuation, humanitarianism, , selflessness, transcendence, attachment. We work our way up awakening each chakra to arrive at a form of enlightenment in the Crown Chakra. This is not a journey’s end, but a rebirth and beginning that which some describe as “Kundalini Awakening”.  Here in the seventh chakra awareness of our spirit is realized and our connection to a more encompassing spirit outside ourselves. This spiritual connection is not religion. Religion speaks to the tribal mind and is associated with the first chakra. When we awaken to the seventh chakra we are open to cosmic energy that is linked with Divine wisdom and thought. At this level the intellect is abandoned and the experience of a “knowing” is realized as is an establis...
