Virgo...The Archetype

The Virgin with sheaves of grain in her hands symbolizes the sign of Virgo. The sheaves represent the wisdom that is harvested in the fields of experience.

Virgo is the Grace of Divinity, which dwells within. It is in the expression of this inner Grace that each of us finds our rightful place in the world. The fulfillment of rightful service to the greater whole is Virgo’s effort. Virgo wishes to be of use.

Being the sign of service Virgo denotes what kind of work we do and how it gets done. Meticulous and detailed, discrimination comes unsurprisingly. Discernment is an attribute that separates Virgo from mediocrity making refinement and perfection its grail.
Virgo’s interest in function and what works well takes many directions. For example, Virgo loves the amazing design and function of the human body. It looks to the body as a teacher and ally. Maintaining proper balance of mind, body and spirit is key for Virgo. Health and well-being are areas that will attract Virgo to service.

Virgo signals a return to order. Bringing “Order out of Chaos” and making full use of resources for productivity. Cultivating production with efficiency is natural for the evolved Virgo individual. System and order being the organization from which is operates.

Virgo’s concern and preoccupation for its livelihood makes it the sign of service. The initial phase of Virgo’s “service” will be the job(s) we have in our lives. These jobs will not reflect a conscious expression of what we desire until a career is discovered. Our career will bring satisfaction until one day, it will no longer. It is at this juncture a deeper passion within our career or elsewhere will need to be fulfilled. A strong feeling of being destined or chosen to serve in a greater capacity will be sought. This calling will become our vocation.

The development and growth of the Soul within us is birthed in this sign. It will be our vocation, which will express the nature of the Soul’s true destiny in our lives. It will be up to each one of us to listen to the voice within, and answer that call.

When we modify or adapt to serve a new or different purpose, we transform. When we go beyond, rise above, overshadow or eclipse, we transcend what we were and become something new. When we take transformation of our physical or lower perceptions to their highest expressions, the spiritual or higher state of being determines how this energy is directed. The conversion of these energies causes an alchemical reaction that creates a new way of perceiving and experiencing our reality. The "leaden" lower self (body) connects to and serves the higher "golden" self (soul) -  this is the meaning of alchemy.

Uncertainty

When I choose to consciously sit in the uncertainty of the unknown I am brought into present time and into my physical body. Time slows, breathing is deepened, actions become deliberate and words are chosen with more intention. Vulnerability is on edge here in this place of uncertainty. Sensitivity is acute and tears are on stand by, ready to rise to any occasion. Yet, the beauty of this place is the humility and the grace that are the vessels of transportation ready to carry me to the next moment of life, if I let them. To move forward, I let go and let the unknown be my driver. I think about all the ways I try and control and predict my life. Making myself angry that it sometimes isn't going the way I like or a way that has me feeling so uncomfortable. Carrying this inner rebellion is like driving a car with the emergency brake on. The limitation of the ego mind holds us hostage to what the unknown would like to offer. An offering our thoughts have ...

"The only thing that is constant is change."

The intension of this blog is to share information, contemplate life and to ask questions.  I do not claim to have any answers to these questions I ask. The only answers I have are to my own personal beliefs, which can sometimes change daily based on any given experience .    I s change the initiation for chaos?  Do we seek transformation or does transformation seek us? Transitions, letting go, surrendering to what cannot be controlled. "Everything must stay the same" a mantra that we all live with inside the human condition of the ego. If you think you can escape this, look again. "Yes, I want change to happen, I understand that it needs to happen but please don't let everything turn to chaos." Again I ask, is chaos the initiation to transformation?  Change moves us from one pattern into something new. In this process a pattern must be broken for the new pattern to be created. When something breaks, fragmentation occurs. The law of natu...
